April 28, 2008 : Review of applications will begin

full-time lecturer in Central Asian Turkic Studies to teach Uighur
through the third year level. Candidates must possess native or
near-native fluency in Uighur and have at least an MA degree in an
appropriate field (e.g., Turkology). Prior experience in teaching

Uzbek or Kazak. Send letter of interest, CV, three letters of
reference and, if possible, evidence of teaching effectiveness (such
as course materials authored by the candidate, course evaluations,
video of teaching) to the Chair of the Department of Near Eastern
Languages and Civilization, 229 Denny Hall, Box 353120, University of
Washington, Seattle, WA 98195-3120. Review of applications will begin
on April 28, 2008 and continue until the position is filled. The
